Current Position Openings

The College of Westchester, an Associate degree- and Baccalaureate degree-granting college, is seeking a full-time Associate Director of High School & Community Partnerships.

The Associate Director of High School & Community Partnerships is responsible for all field activities related to high school, community, and corporate inquiry generation. Presentations, developed by The College, are conducted throughout the local area to build the CW brand and generate interest from prospective students.  The Associate Director is responsible for other field activities related to recruitment and admission of qualified students at high schools, college fairs, community colleges, community organizations, corporations, businesses, and elsewhere. They will represent The College in a manner that will effectively support the pursuit of The College’s strategic enrollment objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of related experience specifically in consultative sales, recruiting, public speaking, higher education admissions or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain relationships, build rapport, understand needs of students, employers and educators, present college and career information and inspire prospects to consider CW.
  • Must have superior public speaking and communication skills, interviewing, and customer engagement skills.
  • Substantial technology skills include proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, social media and experience with CRM systems for community, client and student engagement.

HIGH SCHOOL – DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with high schools to support and enhance student recruitment. This area encompasses but is not limited to Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Bronx and Fairfield counties.
  • Contact and visit high schools for the purpose of scheduling and conducting classroom presentations and meeting with high school guidance counselors, teachers and other key staff.
  • Represent the College at external functions and events geared toward the recruitment of high school juniors and seniors, such as Career Nights and College Fairs.
  • Meet and exceed agreed upon goals for high school presentations, inquiry generation, and scheduled high school bookings.

COMMUNITY – DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with regional employers, community organizations and colleges to support and enhance student recruitment.
  • Expand corporate partnerships with businesses, healthcare organizations and non-profits.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings and presentations with community organizations to spread awareness of CW and directly generate prospective student inquiries and applications for admission.
  • Meet and exceed agreed upon goals for community organization meetings, presentations, inquiry generation and enrollment.

GENERAL – DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborative team member with a commitment to open cross departmental cooperation and communication; a commitment to the College’s mission and vision, a sense of service to the College’s diverse student population and all internal and external constituencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000

The College of Westchester, an Associate degree- and Baccalaureate degree-granting college, is seeking a full-time Student Financial Assistance Counselor to work in our New Student Financial Assistance department.  The Student Financial Assistance Counselor provides advisement, support and assistance to prospective students and parents to help them determine how to make college affordable. The Student Financial Assistance Counselor will meet with students to assist them in the completion of Federal, New York State financial aid applications and determine eligibility for grants, scholarships, Federal Loans and other award programs. The Student Financial Assistance Counselor will deliver excellent service and support to students, maintain compliance with all regulations and assist the Assistant Director in the day-to-day departmental activities.

The work schedule for this position will include Mon-Thursday (Two days at 9-5 /One day 9-7 and One day 9-8. And Saturday’s schedule is 9-3.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, however will accept comparable experience.
  • College financial aid experience is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and student-first mindset.
  • Good math aptitude and technology skills.
  • Bilingual – Spanish required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet with prospective and new students to counsel them on financial assistance process, discuss options to finance their education, assist in completing applications, determine financial need and present financial aid award estimates.
  • Counsel prospective and new students regarding their rights and responsibilities with respect to financial assistance and student loans.
  • Ensure all required documents and assigned deadlines are met including but not limited to timely submission of new student financial assistance packages, verification documents, ETAs, folder submission and departmental reports to supervisor.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with Financial Assistance and Admissions department team members on the status of applicants/students and other relevant information.
  • Assist in organizing and participating in special events such as open houses, financial aid workshops (both on- and off-campus), early registration and orientation for new students, as well as finalizing any outstanding financial assistance matters for new students during the add/drop period.
  • Assist Assistant Director and others with required reporting.
  • Assist Assistant Director in day-to-day activities and coordination of student appointments.
  • Serve as a member of campus committees when appointed by the Assistant Director.
  • Attend professional development training workshops, especially in the area of student financial assistance.
  • Be knowledgeable and up to date on all federal, state and accreditation regulations regarding financial assistance.
  • Follow New Student Financial Assistance policies and procedures.

Annual Salary Range: $58,000 – $65,000

The College Admissions Recruiter assists qualified prospective students through the admissions process in an efficient, professional and supportive manner using best practices in recruiting and compliance. All recruiters set campus visitation appointments, conduct in-depth interviews and tours of the campus, and provide accurate information regarding programs and services in order to assist potential students in identifying the CW program that will best meet their needs. Ultimately, the College Admissions Recruiter will assist the College in reaching its qualitative and quantitative enrollment objectives. The hours include evenings and Saturdays. Bilingual Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities include:

  • Make outbound calls to prospective students who have expressed an interest in the College in order to schedule campus visitation appointments.
  • Meet with potential students to accurately explain program offerings; discuss and advise suitable programs in accordance with the student’s interests, qualifications, and career goals.
  • Provide excellent customer service through professional, consistent and effective outreach and engagement.
  • Represent the College both on and off campus to prospective students, parents and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.
  • Attend all admissions department meetings and training sessions.
  • Accurately account for all prospective student inquiries and applicants and required admissions activity associated with these prospects.
  • Complete daily activity reports.
  • Ensure that all enrollment paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Keep all required reports current and accurate, including information stored in a student information data-based system.
  • Adhere to a strict code of ethics and comply with all The College of Westchester policies and procedures, State and Federal laws and accrediting body regulations.
  • Network and build strong relationships to generate personally developed referrals.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure student success and satisfaction.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of on-campus events and programs for groups and individuals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Passionate about helping others achieve their educational and career goals.
  • 3-5 years of successful experience in recruitment, sales, customer service, marketing, public relations or other related field preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills; to include the ability to effectively follow up and follow through.
  • Experience with CampusVue, Velocify or similar SIS/CRM systems a plus.
  • Ability to work well with and mentor others.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective computer skills as well as familiarity with the professional use of social media.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work evening and Saturdays.
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus.

Annual Salary Range:  $64,350 – $73,000

The College of Westchester, an Associate degree- and Baccalaureate degree-granting college, is seeking a part-time Student Financial Services Administrative Assistant.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum two year degree.
  • Title IV and NYS financial aid experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills/work courteously and professionally with students and families.
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks along with the energy to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion.
  • Problem solving abilities and special attention to details

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Front line student customer service position performing general administrative assistant and clerical work; schedule appointments for Student Financial Services (SFS) staff; monitor, order, distribute and maintain SFS office supplies; receive, sort and send SFS mail, emails and texts.
  • Assist Associate Director of Student Financial Assistance with various financial aid processing projects
  • Assist in preparing student financial aid files
  • Prepare/maintain monthly SFS Staff work schedule and distribute to staff
  • Monitor work flow of the front office and assist students
  • Perform a variety of work in student assistance as relates to the financial aid process, such as helping students navigate financial aid paperwork; be able to identify missing documents for students when a student inquires on their financial aid status.  In addition assist with the Student Services office in Academic matters that pertain to students and their financial aid
  • Organize and maintain the student filing system for both active and inactive students
  • Scan documents into the student information system
  • Other duties as assigned

Hourly Range for part-time position:  $16.83 – $18.27 per hour

NYS Sick Time Accrual is offered to part-time employees.
